John Jenkins Small Town Revival Minimize

Rooted in the heart of smalltown life ... Real and simple songwriting that echoes through the hills and sways with the sea ... Mountain folk music with swinging piano, acoustic and electric guitar, harmonica, bass, foot kick and foot snare ... SMALLTOWN REVIVAL

In 2007 John Jenkins received a recording grant from The Canadian Society of Recording Arts and recorded his first album John Jenkins and Swerving Gently - Backroads and Highways released Feb 2008. The band followed up a year later with their second album Rare Mileage, released July 2009. After the trio lost their drummer to other pursuits the band was reformed and renamed.

John Jenkins' Smalltown Revival began where Swerving Gently left off, playing shows across Alberta and British Columbia. Smalltown Revival, "produces down home, deep woods, genuine and pure Kootenay mountain sounds", featuring Yannick Robitaille on keys; John Jenkins on guitar, foot kick, and foot snare, harmonica, and vocals; and brother Dan Jenkins on electric bass and vocals.

Recorded independently, in October 2010 at home in the 'bus house' just outside Golden BC, Smalltown Revival - "dig deeply into a folk-inspired, moody and atmospheric world" with Vancouver Island recording engineer and producer Jordan Stringer (Cabin Fever Studios). Mastered by Jason Whelan (The Sound Solution-St. John's NFLD), the debut album for Smalltown Revival - Music From Home - went coast to coast before being released in March 2011.
